Jena Malone - Hunger GamesJena Malone, seen kicking all sorts of ass last year in Sucker Punch, has nabbed the role of Johanna Mason in the Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire, THR reports. Thanks for the ruining one of the great twists of Catching Fire! 😛

Decent choice but I just can't quite envision her . She does have the untrustworthy look in the photo which suits the roll but she doesn't look quite tough enough. Maybe she'll hit the gym for the roll. Hopefully she'll do a great job.
I just saw Butterfly Effect 3 and I think Melissa Jones would fit the roll. She has a natural looking toughness to her, like Johanna

Although I do love her as an actor and her character in sucker punch was amazing and fit perfectly to the storyline of the movie, I picture johana more different and I'm afraid that she wont be able to meet the criteria of the character as stated in the book. Zoe Aggeliki on the other hand when I first saw her I immeaditly thought to myself self she was perfect to play Johann and not just based off looks but when I was reading the book this is how I pictured Johann, this girl with a fierce look with attitude and fire in her eyes and Zoe happens to have that exact same look in her eyes. Other than that the movie should be amazing and if they follow the book from exact details to details it will be amazing

  • Al says:

As for finnick I can see Booboo Stewart's who plays Seth in the Twilight Saga as a perfect character for the part or someone similair to to Booboo to play him, yes automatically I thought of Taylor Lautner to play the character of Gimmick but it probably cost to much to have him as the character, but if they would to stay along the characteristics that I have picked out for Finnick his character should be great

well.... truthfully i wanted mila kunis but shell do i guess

  • birdy says:

I just saw the picture, thought for a moment who she could play, came up with Johanna Mason would be a good fit, and there you go...
So I like her a lot!!

  • The-Johanna-Freak says:

I was really looking forward to who they would cast for the vicious, axe-throwing, tough Johanna Mason. However their choice of Jena has been a bit of a let down. Not just for me but for many other people. She doesnt seem brutal enough. Johanna is a lumberjack. She would be broad shouldered and have quite muscly arms. Jena doesn't and she is appears too innocent. I saw her in Sucker Punch and don't think she will fit the role properly. Maybe she could have been cast as another character. But we will just have to wait and see if she can deliver. I may be wrong on this but for now I don't think they looked far enough with Johanna.

wanted it to be Mila Kunis!! 🙁

  • Reegan says:

    no!!!! not her!!!!! :((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((

  • lyn says:

I'm thinking as I'm looking at her... Isabelle Fuhrman (Clove) look-alike.

  • Lauren says:

I thought Naya Rivera to play Johanna, she is what i pictured when reading the book , I thought she would be perfect

    • Leonidas says:

same 🙁 she was who i wanted all along. she plays Santana so well and their characters are quite alike. *sigh*

  • MsJoshifferHutcherence says:

Well,to be honest I would have prefered someone like Naya Rivera cause I thought Johanna was black,or at least tan.Jena looks tough but she's not the right fit. They had BETTER get Finnick right or I won't see the movie out of protest.Which would be horrible cause I love these books to death.

  • All you people complaining about the choice for Johanna, just might want to stop and use your imaginations for a change. By the time we see her onscreen and in character, she will look, act and sound like Johanna in the book does. It's called acting.
