Michael Bay Will Reboot Transformers 4 for 2014

Speaking with MTV, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura confirmed general details on a fourth planned movie in Paramount's Oscar-nominated Transformers series, which will indeed see Michael Bay returning behind the camera. (First, however, he may finally shoot his bodybuilding crime pic Pain & Gain.) Though it's expected we'll see main robot characters like Optimus Prime return, summer of 2014's Transformers 4 -- Trans4mers? Tr4nsformers? -- will be a reboot, di Lorenzo says, because of course we need a Transformers reboot already. Of course. [MTV]

I know shia is not returning -- but how in the heck is this a reboot with the same director and with the last one being the biggest transformers movie to date -- I think it can be just called a sequel, please don't tell me we are going back to tell the origin story again.

  • I'm sure by reboot they mean recast. Not a new origin story.

Trans4ormers, Jen. In fact it's so good it means one-have-to's one other. Best to Michael Bay, birther of one hell of a great Tranformers 1.

How funny would it be if every 3 movies they just recast and then told the same 3 stories all over again, ad infinitum?

I think If they reboot everything it would be a bust or waist of money. They rather just leave it alone if there not gonna make a 4th addition to the trilogy
