Who's Stoked For Dracula and Van Helsing?

Or Van Helsing and Dracula, or whatever Sony's apparently calling it? Don't everyone speak up at once. [Fusible]

  • Please tell me it's a "reboot" about their days as wacky mismatched post-collegiate roommates.

When listing the worst films I've ever seen, Van Helsing is always at the top of the list. Can't wait to see how the sequel will rank! An even BIGGER loud, flashy, confusing mess! Genius!

I'm soooo confused. Van Helsing was a Universal film, which I always remember because Universal's been dying to relaunch the "Universal Monsters". Which is why we got The Wolf Man a couple years back, why we're getting The Creature of the Black Lagoon again, why they're planning on redoing The Bride of Frankenstein and apparently "rebooting" Dracula. Obviously Dracula is public domain, but why would Sony want to get involved in this mess? Unless Dracula and Van Helsing fall in love and they have to fight werewolves for each other???

      1. Because it is public domain.
      2. Because the Hugh Jackman one made $300m worldwide for Universal, which way overspent on it. Sony probably believes -- accurately, I think -- that they can spend less to make more.

I want Vanhelzing and Dracula in the next movie and a lot of different monsters.
