Early Report: Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is so Awful, You'll Pee Fire

I guess the new Nicolas Cage fire urination epic Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance did not soar like a blazing motorcycle across the night sky at Buttnumbathon recently. In fact, it tanked. There's a flamin' new poster for the film - one that would look impressive on a Hot Topic t-shirt or a bitchin' Trapper Keeper - but we've got three definitely stanky tweets about the movie after the jump. We threw in a dollop of hope at the end, though.

And now, the stank. You'd think someone would find campy fun in this freaky heap. Apparently not.

GHOST RIDER 2 manages to make me look fondly back on GHOST RIDER. Unbearable.

GHOST RIDER 2 makes GHOST RIDER 1 look like DARK KNIGHT.

GHOST RIDER 2 played. I have nothing else to add.

And finally, that dollop of "hope."

Whatever, I still think GHOST RIDER 2 looks better than G.I. JOE 2.

We're in trouble? No. Urine trouble.

    And in 3Dimensions of awfulness.

I don't know, I trust Neveldine and Taylor and not afraid of their frantic style. Their Gamer was also not well received but I liked it, I think it was underrated and actually smart movie. On the other side there is Cage and his influence, so its fragile.

  • Elias says:

This is hilarious, especially the comment about Ghost Rider 2 making Ghost Rider 1 look like Dark Knight. Not sure why some people are surprised though…not only is Nic Cage completely wrong for the part (and too old by about 20 years) the first GR was just an unwatchable mess. The only decent thing about it were the effects, and at times those looked cheap and hackneyed.

Eat it up! As Marvel Studios slowly tries to get back all the films rights to their characters, trashy movies like Ghost Rider will surely make way for the serviceable mediocrity of the likes of Thor, Incredible Hulk, and Captain America.
I don't care what anyone says, Nic Cage makes a movie like this so much more entertaining. Also, it's a good thing I always thought Ghost Rider was a lame character.

  • Richard Kleiner says:

Nic Cage is the downfall of this movie, but the visual style is surprisingly innovative, even as it is hyperactive and sometimes unintelligible. The plot is B-grade, but the action scenes are gripping and the visual effects are incredibly realistic, most of the times.

I don't care,I'm still going to see that. The first one wasn't so good, but it was entertaining because of Nic Cage's bad acting. That man has a place in my little heart no matter how crappy the movie is 🙂

MAN !!!!! WTF why ??? i wanted to see just one good movie about the Ghost ryger but in its place is a hot plate of crap!

  • Neilson says:

Unlike the soulless moviegoers who can't recognise enjoyment even if it stabs them in the face, I really enjoyed Ghost Rider. Its by no means a perfect movie, but it is definately so much better than the crap everyone describes it as. I would definately go and see it again.

  • Rob Rosenland says:

Interesting in some of the cinematography and special effects...I am sure that some of it may even be cutting edge. This is such the wrong platform for this new stylistic approach. The plot is horrible and tired at best. I don't care what anyone says about the first Ghost Rider; I found it extremely entertaining and fun to watch. The casting was solid and the story made sense. The only thing that even linked part one and two of these two films was The Ghost Rider. The filmmakers didn't even have the foresight to keep his motorcycle the same! That was a huge part of Johnny's back story...I mean, come on! I am by no means a purist or even anyone qualified to critique movies in general. But, as a bonified normal type working stiff that enjoys his two dollar Red Box rental on a Friday night, I am going to have to be very firm in my recommendation to never let anyone that you know, are friends with, or even remotely care about get within a hundred feet of this "movie". For the record, I am being very gracious when I address Ghost Rider 2 as such.
