Steven Spielberg Blames George Lucas for Indiana Jones Aliens, But Takes Credit for Nuking the Fridge

Steven Spielberg may have hated George Lucas's addition of aliens into Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls, but the much-loathed refrigerator scene? All him. "What people really jumped at was Indy climbing into a refrigerator and getting blown into the sky by an atom-bomb blast. Blame me. Don't blame George. That was my silly idea. People stopped saying 'jump the shark.' They now say, 'nuked the fridge.' I'm proud of that. I'm glad I was able to bring that into popular culture." See here, fellas: No one gets away clean. What douchey wannabe-intellectual actually uses the phrase "nuke the fridge" anyway? Let me guess: the same people who say "Troll 2" is the worst movie ever only because that's what they're told to think.

So Cate Blanchett gets away without any of the blame after learning her Russian accent by watching episodes of Rocky & Bullwinkle?

I did not hate the fridge part. I thought it was funny enough.
The movie had already lost me with all the prairie dog shots.

So, I guess if you use the term 'jump the shark' you are completely douche-free? 'Nuked the fridge' is an innocuous, amusing phrase. Get over yourself. Your post is insanely ironic.

I was sitting there not hating this movie. Then my friend says, "Oh, wait 'til you see this part!" The fridge landed, Indy opened the door, and I turned the channel.

I loved the movie and thought it was better than 'Last Crusade' which was boring.
