The 9 Most Glamorous Moments in Roddy McDowall's Unbelievable, Star-Laden Home Movies

Please cherish this moment of blue-rare glamor, because I've seen nothing like it in my life: Actor Roddy McDowall's home video collection was released to the public, and in one amazingly decadent vacation reel from 1965, the Planet of the Apes celeb cavorts with some of the biggest movie stars of all time. Is that Judy Garland in sky blue patio-wear? Sure is. Is that a Cat Ballou-era Jane Fonda? Indeed. Is that David O. Selznick, Natalie Wood, Julie Andrews, Paul Newman, Anthony Perkins, Rock Hudson and many, many more? Sigh! Yes! Let's rank the nine most glamorous moments from these soundless clips and fan ourselves for the rest of the day.

9. Suzanne Pleshette, in a crisp white ensemble with pinstripe pants, shields her face and playfully kicks away the camera. Such meager defenses would not serve her well in The Birds. (Video #3, 2:55)

8. Jane Fonda, whose utterly perfect teeth cannot be denied, lowers her shades and unleashes some zany, cross-eyed, fun. (Video #3, 4:18)

7. Anthony Perkins gives a coy "fuck you" to the camera. Vulgarity in a ringer tee! Glamor! (Video #3, 3:48)

6. Roddy McDowall himself hogging the camera, squatting in an itty-bitty swimsuit, and playing around with a big Star of David. (Video #2, 1:45)

Aren't these the MOST, to say the least?!?!

Stumbled across these just recently, and they blew my mind.
Downloaded most of 'em, and must of watched them a dozen times.
Not so much a fan of any of the guests, but seeing those oh-so-familiar faces casually chatting, etc, is charming. Also really love that mid-'60's Cali vibe (dig the sunglasses!).
Odd to think that most of the people captured have died.
