Happy 47th Birthday, Keanu Reeves! What's His Finest Acting Moment?

Forty-seven years ago today, Keanu Charles Reeves was born to Patricia Bond and Samuel Reeves in Beirut, Lebanon. Growing up, Reeves enjoyed acting and hockey and in 1986, at the age of 22, Reeves combined his passions in the Rob Lowe hockey movie Youngblood. Twenty-seven years after his studio debut, Reeves has established himself as one of our favorite big-screen personalities. In honor of Keanu's birthday, let's hear what you consider his finest acting moment. Excellent!

No offense, Keanu, but we're going to automatically disqualify any role that involved an accent. We still love you though. Who can deny the greatness of your work in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, My Own Private Idaho, Speed and The Matrix? Personally, I think Keanu's best moment onscreen occurred in the late '80s in Parenthood.

Send Keanu your best wishes and tell us Keanu's finest performing feat below.

    Like totally The Matrix dude.

  • Jude says:

It's his 47th, not his 46th, guys. He was born in 1964. I hope he has a birthday as lovely as he is.

  • Thank you. Our Dept. of Celebrity Birth Records has noted the correction.

  • S.T. VanAirsdale says:

I'm with Julie! The shiver gets me every time.

  • Hei Xuan Feng says:

Happy birthday dude! Suggestion: Since you didn't actually do anything on the day you were born, except bringing your mother to the point of death to bring you here, and since she did all the work; why not take her out to dinner and thank her!
The best on screen moment was no doubt 'The Devil's Advocate' hands down.

  • Gazal says:

  • Kathy says:

Have a Fantastic Birthday, Keanu! I Love ALL of his movies.....especially: My Own Private Idaho and Street Kings. I think he's going to be a great director also. Happy Birthday Keanu!!!

  • The WInchester says:

His entirety of screen time in I Love You To Death is pretty priceless.
    "Who's Joey?"
(But if we're being ironic, I have to say the monologue in Johnny Mnemonic when he bitches about room service and Corona in the middle of the junkyard, before meeting the resistance leader who's a dolphin.).

Happy bday! Love me some Keanu, and there is something comforting in the fact that he has managed to survive in HW all these years.
Going old school - "Rivers Edge" (and, aw, man was he pretty back then). But, in terms of my favorite moment, I think it has to be the "I.Am.A.FBI.Agent!" line from "Point Break".

  • MARIANA AIONESEI says:

Long live your tender and gifted soul, MyLord. ( I realize that you do not like to be named like this, but you are a natural phenomena )

  • M says:

His finest acting moment? it depends...
    Constantine. all of it.
    Neo going through his journey.
Street Kings- the final confrontation with Whitaker.
Keanu playing Henry playing Lopakhin ( Henry's Crime). 'The cherry orchard is mine, all mine!'
    Dr.Perry in Thumbsucker
the monologue in Scanner Darkly. 'what does a scanner see'?
'the bathroom scene' in The Last Time I Committed Suicide.
    and so on...
Happy birthday, Keanu ! Here's to more finest acting moments...

  • Jovita says:

    A Happy Birthday Mr. Reeves

  • MARIANA AIONESEI says:

Hey, you guys! What is happening in USA? You try to do the hard work, disqualify Keannu for language accent? What about those 2 millions dollars less paycheck he refused in order to act Devil Advocate with Al Pacino?
Chess mate for yours denigrators, Mr Reeves.
So, give me another lesson about language and career, money, career and professionalism.
    Happy birthday, Keannu.
There are no top act performances concerning you. You really make the evil thing: Everything you act cannot and will not be possible to be re-done by anyone. Ar least for the following 21 century.
Hey, Keanu. Do you imagine another one acting The Matrix, Constantine, My Own Private Idaho...I wonder, DO Y IMAGINE ANOTHER ONE VERSUS You, Keanu Reeves? So, happy birthday.
I am not into" Being John Malkovich" here. Nevertheless, Being Keeanu Reeves is far more away into the 21 Century.
Do Y realize Y mark everything you touch? By instinct. You are Oh , Yes, You're "The Great Pretender", quoting Freddy Mercury.

The things you have given to me and the rest of the world is priceless...
I love all your films, dear Keanu, as in each there is a part of you...
The characters you choose and the choices they make speak louder than words. I vove them all.
Thank you, really great thanks that your parents through some circumstances met in Lebanon years ago since you came to the world. You are 'the miracle'!!!

  • Ruvi says:

Hardball! I'm gonna marry you Keanu! Hang in there 🙂

  • The Cantankerist says:

+1 for River's Edge and Aunt Julia & The Scriptwriter, and some kind of special award for Ted (Theodore) Logan. Sure, it's a Spicoli, but Penn's was acted whereas Keanu's came from the heart.

  • Oz says:

He was perfection in Little Buddha. He infused so much love for humanity in that role. He also brought such an otherworldly quality as well. No other actor could have captured so much of Buddha himself.

  • TVDIVA says:

I loved the down to earth professionalism he gave his LAPD character in Speed. At the time the LAPD needed some good PR, and the cast in Speed gave it to them. I also loved him in Little Buddha.

  • KevyB says:

He wasn't the worst thing onscreen in Speed, so that wins it. The same cannot be said of any other movie he was in.
