Of course Justin Timberlake is the star of In Time, the futuristic sci-fi romp where the only currency on Earth is time: He investigated this phenomenon on his 2006 album FutureSex/LoveSounds, making keen observations about the sexiness of backs, the fun of summer lovin', and the cybernetic world of skinny ties. Whee! Welcome back to the future, JT. Amanda Seyfried's Bridget Fonda haircut waves at you from 1994.
I love cute little "future" touches in these kinds of movies -- like having to deal with your hot mom, who looks younger than you. Typical futuristic nuisance! Seyfried looks like Jane Jetson's downtrodden college roommate, and I accept that. I've decided to have no feelings for Olivia Wilde since she's allowed to be in every single movie no matter what, but I'm titillated by the inclusion of Matthew Bomer, Cillian Murphy, Alex Pettyfer, and Mad Men's Vincent Kartheiser. Pete Campbell thinks about the future constantly, remember! He buys chip-'n-dips!
VERDICT: Time goes around, comes around.
Directed by Andrew Niccol (Gattaca), In Time arrives in theaters on Oct. 28. Watch the trailer in HD over at Apple.
