Wondering what your favorite British actors have been up to since filming stopped on the Harry Potter franchise? Well, for some, it looks like Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. The upcoming adaptation of John le Carré's bestselling novel from Let the Right One In director Tomas Alfredson features Potter vets Gary Oldman, John Hurt, Toby Jones and Ciaran Hinds, as well as Tom Hardy, Benedict Cumberbatch, Mark Strong, and newly-minted Best Actor winner Colin Firth. British! Also, fantastic, judging by this new international teaser trailer.
First of all: LOVE the music. Also, Oldman seems to be in top form here, which portends to his name being mentioned often during Oscar season. After all, as many have pointed out, Oldman has never received a single nomination, despite two decades of highly lauded work. Fix that, AMPAS! As for the film itself, it seems like an amalgam of Munich, the good stuff with Michael Fassbender in X-Men: First Class, and, obviously, le Carré. In other words...
VERDICT: Sold.
Tinker Tailer Soldier Spy hits U.K. cinemas in September, and arrives Stateside on Nov. 18.
