· With a testosterone-heavy cast featuring Jason Statham, Clive Owen and Robert De Niro, the Open Road release Killer Elite is poised to be your favorite dude-y action film since The Expendables. Statham stars as a former special-ops agent lured out of retirement to save his mentor (De Niro) from an evil Brit (Clive Owen). Broken bones and dead bodies likely ensue. Fun! · This year marks the 10th anniversary of Wet Hot American Summer, and director David Wain is discussing a prequel. "The prequel would be the same summer so they would be 20 years old for the part, yeah, but not younger. So it would be 40-year-olds playing 16-year-olds. · Robert Kanter has acquired the worldwide documentary film rights to John Steinbeck's non-fiction work, The Log from the Sea of Cortez. Per the press release, "Kanter will recreate and film the six-week voyage Steinbeck took around the Sea of Cortez in which he and his good friend marine biologist Ed Ricketts catalogued over 500 species of fauna and discovered about 50 new species."
