Could Immortals Be the 'Bad Movie We Love' of 2011?

Here at Movieline, we hold a special place in our hearts for bad movies. From Van Wilder to Red Sonja to High School Musical 3, the best of the worst almost always offers something truly memorable. Which is why the upcoming release Immortals has us so very excited on this lazy Tuesday: judging from the newly released character posters, this could be the Bad Movie We Love of the year!

Directed by honey badger Tarsem Singh, Immortals is being marketed as the unofficial sequel to 300. Which is fine, if unremarkable. What makes it seem destined for bad movie immortality, however, is presented in two of the newest character posters for the film: Mickey Rourke and Stephen Dorff. And really, Stephen Dorff's abs. Which are ridiculous. That Kellan Lutz -- he of Love Wedding Marriage fame; and, also Twilight -- has a role here, too, is commendable. That he's playing Poseidon is downright inspired on a Glenn Close-as-a-pirate-like level.

Of course, there's also the possibility that Singh could have simply made Immortals into a good movie we love. But where would the fun in that be?
