Also in this Monday edition of The Broadsheet: Denzel Washington and Robert Zemeckis take Flight... Robert Pattinson drops an f-bomb on TV... video gamers are getting older... and more ahead.

· With just about one year left before Star Trek 2 is scheduled to arrive in theaters, is J.J. Abrams ready to say the sequel will be his next picture? Kinda. "The next thing we're working on, and hopefully we'll be able to pass information out sooner or later, is the next Star Trek," he told reporters at a press junket for Super 8. But what about the fact that he'll have precious little time to get Star Trek 2 ready? "I care much more that it be good than it be ready. I'm obviously doing everything I can to make sure that schedules don't get screwed up. But I don't think anyone wants a movie on time that's not worth your time." Speaking of "not worth your time," Abrams also said he isn't yet considering 3D for Star Trek 2. Hooray! [CinemaBlend]

· Originally reported back in April, it looks like Flight is getting closer to take-off. The Los Angeles Times states that the film is next in line for director Robert Zemeckis, and that a deal with Denzel Washington will be closed shortly. [LAT/24 Frames]

· Sobering statistic of the day: The average vidgame player is now 37 years old. [Variety]

· Fox News faux pas: the network used a picture of Tina Fey instead of Sarah Palin when reporting on the former Alaskan governor's possible presidential run. [Huffington Post]

· Sony Pictures picked up a spec script by Kate Angelo (The Back-Up Plan) called Sex Tape. The movie would revolve around a conservative married couple that films a night of lovemaking, and then watches in horror as the tape winds up in the wrong hands. Sounds like Date Night but with more sex. [Deadline]

· In case you missed it last night: Robert Pattinson said the f-word during the MTV Movie Awards. Scandalous! Watch the swear below.
