I'm partial to Election and Freeway. Tracy Flick, Witherspoon's zealous overachiever character in Election, remains a singular figure in cinema: a memorably dimensional, yet transparent female character who is constantly unlikable. In the Red Riding Hood parable Freeway, Witherspoon's trashy runaway protagonist, Vanessa Lutz, ends up in the grimmest of violent situations but survives them with bobbleheaded buoyancy. Both characters are unforgettable. Who's your pick? You win extra points by choosing S.F.W.
