Meet the 8 Directors on the 'Shortlist' for The Wolverine

Hugh-Jackman-Wolverine-1868.jpgPer Variety, Twentieth Century Fox has limited its search to replace Darren Aronofsky as director of The Wolverine to a mere eight possibilities: Jose Padilha, Doug Liman, Antoine Fuqua, Mark Romanek, Justin Lin, Gavin O'Connor, James Mangold and Gary Shore. (Apparently Pedro Almodovar and Terrence Malick were unavailable to make this an even ten.) Sadly, none of the Movieline approved suggestions for The Wolverine appear here, though there's still time. Fingers crossed for you, Takeshi Kitano! [Variety]

More importantly my top pick isn't on the short list either, sad panda. Hands down the first (and only) person who came to mind who could do a better job than Darren Aronofsky is CLINT EASTWOOD. This could be his The Last Samurai epicness building off the sleek sexy feel of the new 60's First Class, he could have steered this from an explosion-palooza to a much more impactful place (see Gran Torino) and actually give the handsome Aussie some sort of a script to work with, cause homies got some chops (check out Deception or the Prestige for proof yo) he's not just a broad shouldered, 6 pack rocking hunk of meat!
