Madonna Contradicts Classic Truth or Dare Oprah Snipe — on Oprah Finale

Here's the thing about being Madonna: You can't contradict your saucy quotes from the early '90s with maternal niceties in 2011, because I'll remember what you said. I will find the evidence in my cone bra, produce it coquettishly like an Old West dame, and share my returns. Welp, here's the new drama: Madonna appeared on Oprah Winfrey's final show today, claiming that she admires the talk show doyenne for promoting reading. Fine, but I remember a movie called Truth or Dare where Madonna cavalierly trashed Oprah. Let's watch it.

In the segment, Madonna criticizes Chicago, where she's currently stopped on tour:

Transcribed: "You know it's a bad sign when they want you to go on a half an hour early. Everything's fine, but we're in a conservative town. And that is another reason to not wanna live in Chicago -- beside for the fact that Oprah Winfrey lives here."

Ouch. Perhaps the Madonna-Oprah bridge has been rebuilt in the 20 years since the film's release, but let's remember the important thing here: Truth or Dare is an awesome movie. That's all.

Here's a preview clip of Madonna before her Oprah appearance today. She notes, "She didn't have to twist my arm, because I love [Oprah]... She doesn't give a sh*t what people think, and I love that."'

Can't she changed her mind in 20 years?
Do you have the same opinions you had 20 years ago?
    How dumb...

"...beside for the fact that Oprah Winfrey lives here."
Wasn't she saying that Oprah was an exception to not wanting to live in Chicago, meaning that Madonna was listing her in the "Pro" column? That's how I took it back then...

  • Tenetria says:

But what's Madonna's current take on Kevin Costner? That's what I really want to know. They should do "Truth or Dare: Revisited" special where Madonna is forced to do a point-by-point rebuttal or defense of every insane thing she said in that movie. (Hosted by Sandra Bernhardt.)

I think your comment is "neat"!

  • Louis Virtel says:

You so beat me to that.

  • miles silverberg says:

    Oliver: Sooooo gay now.

  • mexa says:

That was decades ago. Madonna learned to love Oprah after Oprah interviewed her for Evita back in the 1990s. Now Madonna describes Oprah as the ONLY living woman on the entire planet she admires. What a huge honor to have Madonna say that.

  • Sandra says:

Your dumb, if you read (or listen) to what she said, she says she has reasons to not want to live in Chicago, except for the fact that Oprah lives there. LEARN HOW TO READ!

  • Louis Virtel says:

    You spelled "you're" wrong.

  • Darolo says:

Madonna made a public apology to Kevin Costner in her show during the 2008 section of Sticky & Sweet tour. She knew he was in the audience. Kevin said later he was very touched and she didn't have to do that. Madonna has come a long way since her attention-seeking behaviour of the early 90's. Children, family life, Kabbalah and herself have done that. Hence the reason she made the 2nd Tour/Documentary "I'm Going To Tell You A Secret" released in 2005 which shows a much softer, more tolerant and thoughtful Madonna.

What a ridiculous article! It's been over 20 years. Madonna herself cringes at her behaviour as young woman like, quite frankly, most of us do. It's just that we don't have it immortalised on screen. remind me never to come to this site again if this is what they're paying people to write. Inane.
