Titanic Will Get a 3-D Anniversary Re-Release, and 5 Other Stories You'll Be Talking About Today

· Near, far, wherEVER you are! Ahem. Paramount Pictures and Twentieth Century Fox announced on Thursday morning that long-assumed 3-D re-release of Titanic will officially happen on April 6, 2012. The re-release will coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Titanic setting sail, which happened on April 10, 1912. Said director James Cameron: "There's a whole generation that's never seen Titanic as it was meant to be seen, on the big screen. And this will be Titanic as you've never seen it before, digitally re-mastered at 4K and painstakingly converted to 3-D. With the emotional power intact and the images more powerful than ever, this will be an epic experience for fans and newcomers alike." [Press Release]

· Since James Franco isn't busy enough, he's signed up for the indie drama Cherry, from director Stephen Elliott (who wrote the book The Adderall Diaries which Franco recently optioned). Dev Patel, Heather Graham and Lili Taylor are in negotiations to co-star in the film, which follows a troubled 18-year-old girl and her entry into the porn industry. The female lead has yet to be cast, but here's guessing Brie Larson would kill this material. [Variety]

· Gently Down the Stream, the romcom that stars Robert De Niro, Diane Keaton, Katherine Heigl and Amanda Seyfried, has added Topher Grace to its ever-growing cast. He'll play the son of De Niro and Keaton who falls in love with his adopted brother's sister. Wocka wocka. [Deadline]

· According to Peter Jackson, actor Stephen Fry has been added to the cast of The Hobbit. He'll play The Master of Laketown. [Facebook]

· Taraji P. Henson and Michael Ealy have been added to the cast of Think Like a Man, the adaptation of Steve Harvey's book Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man. Tim Story is set to direct. [Variety]

· Paramount is close to picking up the Scott Rosenberg-penned spec script The Hauntrepreneur, which Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes will produce. The film would follow a family that moves to a new town and hires the titular mischief maker to create a haunted house as a way for them to fit in with the neighbors. [THR/Heat Vision]
