Talkback: Do You Support MGM's Carrie Remake?

With all of the remakes being churned out in Hollywood these days (like Bloodsport, The Idolmaker, Straw Dogs, Fright Night and The Thin Man to name a few), it is even bigger news when movie studios don't target your favorite childhood film for an easy reboot. So maybe we should not be surprised that MGM and Screen Gems have hired a scribe to rewrite Stephen King's high school horror classic Carrie. Sigh.

The studios have tapped Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the playwright/comic book writer who was hired to save Broadway's Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark, for the project. According to Deadline, Aguirre-Sacasa's remake of the Sissy Spacek classic will be more faithful to Stephen King's book than Brian De Palma's 1976 adaptation, which was earned two Oscar nominations for Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie's performances.

Let that news sink in while you enjoy the original Carrie's prom scene below before sounding off in the comment section.
