· This should be bananas -- provided it actually happens. Martin Scorsese and Lars von Trier will team up to direct the long-rumored-and-previously-debunked The Five Obstructions, a follow-up to the 2003 documentary of the same name from Von Trier and director Jorgen Leth. That film focused on Leth's attempts to remake his 1967 short The Perfect Human five times with von Trier providing various "obstructions." What this new incarnation will focus on remains unclear, though you can probably write off Taxi Driver. (Fingers crossed, however, for Von Trier-forced It's Not Just You, Murray!) Expect this to potentially happen after Scorsese shoots the long-gestating film Silence with Daniel Day-Lewis next year. [THR]
