Friday Box Office: Thor Makes It Rain At Number One

The sound you just heard was a hundred and one Marvel Studios execs exhale in relief all at once as Thor, the superhero movie that seemed the most likely to crash and burn, raked in more than $25 million its opening night, priming itself up for one thuper weekend. Elsewhere, the dudebros of Fast Five were bumped to number two, the ladygals of Something Borrowed came in at third place, and Jumping the Broom had a strong start at number four.     Thor may be the worst Marvel film to date, it is completely boring and lifeless with absolutely zero in terms of character and story development with battle scenes that are nothing more than shakey cam. Natalie Portmans serves no purpose other than to gaze longingly for the entire film at studly.

    No way it's worse than Wolverine or Daredevil.
    But, no way is it better than Punisher War Zone, which is the greatest Marvel movie ever.

    For me, it was a solid B+ movie. Not as great as the first Iron Man, but not as dull as the Hulk. Just a nice, fun action movie.
    And Winchester is right, NOTHING could be as bad as Wolverine.

    thor was awesome, I have seen it three times in theater! And Hemsworth looks sooooo hot. Can't wait to see Thor2 !!!
