Watch Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon Hit the Road in Trailer for The Trip

Some people might consider impressions to be the lowest form of comedy, but judging from the new trailer for The Trip, those people are wrong. Directed by Michael Winterbottom, and starring Steve Coogan, Rob Brydon and a host of their fairly dead-on celebrity impersonations, The Trip feels poised to be the indie comedy import of the summer. Get your first look ahead.

Obviously the dueling Michael Caines have been seen (and lurved) before -- Brydon and Coogan filmed The Trip for a six-part series on the BBC, and Winterbottom edited down the best bits for the theatrical version -- but the others? Brilliant! Brydon's Woody Allen is the stuff dreams are made of -- matched only by his Dustin Hoffman. Who does a Hoffman!?

The Trip visits theaters in limited release on June 10, and will hit VOD on June 22. Watch the trailer in HD over at Apple.

I think Coogan should be in jail for getting Owen wilson hooked on smack!

These two are union breakers, as they avoied our WGA meetings last year!

Anyone featruring a film on travel, and 5-star dining in this economy is out of touch with the audience.

Anyone placing the names of all those celebrities on screen when they only do impressions has to be a Nazi.
