Watch Zoe Saldana Kick Ass in Trailer for Colombiana, the Unofficial Sequel to The Professional
Luc Besson never got around to directing a sequel to The Professional, but it appears he may have written the next best thing. In theaters this September, Colombiana stars Avatar's Zoe Saldana as a vengeance-fueled heroine out to punish the people responsible for killing her parents when she was a child. Needless to say, she doesn't have time for your Mickey Mouse -- well, you know.
Written by Besson and directed by future Taken 2 helmer Olivier Megaton (Megaton!), Colombiana plays like a high-gloss version of Alias (a feeling helped along by the presence of former Alias star Michael Vartan), mixed with Tony Scott's Domino. Or, in other words: a sequel to The Professional. Watch the trailer below.
Comments
Cliff Curtis is no Jean Reno, but I do get strangely excited when he appears in a film.
BTW, is there a proper French way to pronounce Megaton, or is it pronounced the awesome way I want it to be pronounced, with background rumbling explosions and whatnot?
MEGATON! MEGATON! MEGATON! I am sure there is a real way to pronounce it, but whenever I type it, I say "Megaton" aloud and then make an explosion sound with my mouth.
At least there's two of us. MEGATON-SPLOSION!
I forget, where does she come from?
I like. She's bendy. Those two statements are not necessarily related.
