"I thought I'd be a great guy [to play the Riddler]," Wilkinson told Movieline sister site Hollywood Life at the New York premiere of The Conspirator. "My character was sent mad, but you never saw him die. I thought it would be great if my kind of crazy and had been sent [away], but somehow recovered -- but nevertheless was totally insane."
Since you probably haven't watched Batman Begins in quite some time, a refresher course: Wilkinson played mobster Carmine Falcone, a low-end Batman nemesis who wound up being gassed by Cillian Murphy's Scarecrow, and was last seen screaming crazy nonsense at Arkham Asylum.
Anyway, it's not a terrible idea -- though as everyone some few people know, Falcone actually hires The Riddler to look for the Holiday Killer in Batman: The Long Halloween, which has been a constant source of inspiration for Nolan during his Batman tenure. That Gordon-Levitt -- who may or may not be playing the Holiday Killer (who may or may not be Falcone's son, Alberto) -- was a popular choice for The Riddler himself, only adds to the Ouroboros of this whole thing. Good luck, Tom!
