Mötley Crüe biography The Dirt, the book is reportedly being adapted for the big screen. And by that, I mean: there is a script -- written by xXx scribe Rich Wilkes -- and a lot of studio hesitation about funding a film that would definitely be rated a "hard-R." Fortunately for Mötley Crüe fans who want this project rushed out of development hell, the venerable Russell Brand has offered to contribute his star services.
While promoting Arthur at MTV, Brand responded to Strauss' casting suggestion that he play Tommy Lee.
"Yeah, I'd be up for that, but I want to be Nikki Sixx," he said, before changing his mind. "I'd be Tommy Lee, I'd be any of them. [...] Yeah, [I'd] have Pamela Anderson be in it, on the yacht," he said, referring to a certain sex tape. "That would be a good scene."
Now if Strauss and his screenwriter Wilkes could just get a hold of the rest of their dream cast -- including Brad Pitt as David Lee Roth, Jared Leto as Vince Neil and Phillip Seymour Hoffman as Ozzy Osbourne, obviously -- this Mötley Crüe film could kickstar my heart. What?
