China's Box Office May Overtake the U.S. Within Decade

At the opening of CinemaCon, the annual cinema exhibitors meeting in Las Vegas, Warner Bros. executives predicted that China's box office will surpass that of the U.S. in ten years time. Apparently the country's film market has expanded 65% in the last year, for an increase of $1.5 billion. This isn't huge shock, since they're also poised to overtake our entire economy, but uh, at least now you have some idea of when to expect that sequel to The Tourist. [The Independent]
