Rashida Jones and Andy Samberg Won't Last Forever, and 6 Other Stories You'll Be Talking About Today

shida_300.jpgAlso in this Wednesday edition of The Broadsheet: Doug Liman hopes to send some of Hollywood's brightest to the moon... Benicio Del Toro is a Savage... The Thin Man gets a screenwriter... and more ahead.

· Here's a rom-com that you can probably get excited about: Celeste and Jesse Forever, the Rashida Jones-scripted relationship comedy that has been in development since March of 2009, is finally coming together. Jones and Andy Samberg will co-star as a recently divorced couple who try to make it as friends, while Lee Toland Krieger (The Vicious Kind) is set to direct; Forever could shoot as early as spring. "It's hard to find female leads that are flawed and interesting and dynamic. We wanted to write something that was in the vein of Judd Apatow -- you talk like you actually talk with your friends -- but with ladies," Jones told the Los Angeles Times. "I want to do that and not just be someone's girlfriend or wife. I want to be the one to go on the journey." Sounds great! File this one away for 2012, despite the fact that Jones also compared the film to Blue Valentine. [LAT/24 Frames]

· Speaking of long-gestating projects, Doug Liman has been working on his untitled moon film since 2007, and now it finally appears to be closer to reality. Fine, orbit. Paramount may push the film -- an Ocean's 11-like space hybrid about a "renegade group of former space employees" stealing equipment around the world with the goal of heading back to the moon to "acquire an energy source" -- into development this summer, just as long as Liman's cast has some "chemistry." Jake Gyllenhaal was first involved in 2007, but he's out now; Liman is discussing the film with a cavalcade of Hollywood youngsters, including Andrew Garfield, Chris Pine, Emile Hirsch, Megan Fox, Rachel McAdams, Rosario Dawson and more. · Apparently Wednesday is "awesome projects" day: Benicio Del Toro is in talks to play a "drug enforcer" (read: bad guy) opposite Taylor Kitsch and Aaron Johnston in Savages, the adaptation of Don Winslow's bestseller from director Oliver Stone. Just release this one now. [Deadline]

· OK, not everything is awesome: Dwayne Johnson will play an everyman trying to get his wrongly-jailed son out of prison in Snitch. [Deadline]

· It looks like Jerry Stahl (Permanent Midnight) will write an adaptation of The Thin Man, with Johnny Depp attached to star and Rob Marshall possibly lining up to direct. [THR/Heat Vision]

· This is more like it: Will Sasso is apparently a "frontrunner" to play Moe in The Three Stooges. [THR]

· Spider-man: Turn Off the Dark actress T.V. Carpio will be out of action for two weeks after suffering an injury on-stage. When Movieline spoke to Carpio in February, she was confident about the production. "I wouldn't do it if I didn't feel safe." Hopefully, she still feels safe. [NYT/ArtsBeat]

Liman's moon flick plot sounds exactly like the plot in Homer Hickam's best-selling novel Back to the Moon. Is it based on it?
