In Memoriam: American Idol's Newest Loser [Spoiler!]

We gather here this morning to remember American Idol's newest fallen comrade, the balladeer who America shoved off the balustrade. Was it Casey Abrams, the raunchy redbeard whose Nirvana cover was indeed sub-pop? Was it Thia Megia, who painted with only one color of the wind (beige)? Or was it Haley Reinhart, Karen Rodriguez, Jacob Lusk, or our Rasta rockstar Naima Adedapo? We celebrate one loser's life after the jump.

Last night we said adios to the awfully smiley Karen Rodriguez, who was sent to the bottom three with our glorious Naima Adedapo (I don't overstand!) and Haley Reinhart (understood).

Legacy: Karen was able to insert Spanish lyrics into any song. She could turn "La Vie en Rose" into a Maria Conchita Alonso tribute. She could turn "Danke Schoen" into a barrio love story. Most importantly, she was the last living MySpacer, and for that we will always sing "Dreaming of You" at her Artist Page.

We Will Miss Most: Her love of Selena, her fake-salty-tears alterego Saline-a, her love of Jennifer Lopez as Selena, the sneaking suspicion that she's never seen Selena, and my endearing catchphrase, "I wasn't so Yolanda for Karen's Selena cover last night." Comedy!

What Could've Been: A cover of "Livin' La Vida Loca" during "Songs Your Grandfather Liked" week, a cover of "If You Had My Love" during "Pander to the Judges" week, a lively rendition of "Conga" during "Miami Hotelier" week, and more Barbarella dresses trimmed with Reynolds Wrap.

Closing Words: Karen, you wore your heritage as an accessory, like your space-queen updo last week. You didn't wear it with the spunk, fervor, or awesome vocabulary of Naima Adedapo, but who could? You did a fine job, you sang overplayed songs, and now you're forced to be your own "Hero." You can start that journey by joining Facebook.
