In Honor of Taylor Swift's Gig in The Lorax, Let's Cast Pop Stars in Voice Roles

Precious balladeer Taylor Swift landed a voice-acting gig that will test her Seussical mettle -- a lead role in upcoming animated adaptation of The Lorax alongside Danny DeVito, Ed Helms, Rob Riggle, and Betty White. This comes on the heels of Katy Perry's Smurfs contribution, which begs the question: Why don't all pop stars do more voice-acting? Let's help five others out with suggestions for animated roles.

Rihanna as Valerie (of Josie and the Pussycats)

No doubt about it: Valerie was the fiercest member of the pussycat clan. Similarly, Rihanna is the most ferocious frequenter of the Hot 100. Nicole Scherzinger, you can be the understudy. For now.

Ke$ha as Sally Brown (of Peanuts)

It's only a matter of time before Peanuts comes back in a far-out 3-D format. For the role of Sally, a character who calls Linus her "Sweet Baboo," Ke$ha will be necessary to lend validity to the purposely dumb epithets.

Lady Gaga as Jem (of Jem and the Holograms)

Jem has a distinctive voice, but Lady Gaga could nail that vaguely affected patois with ease. This project should be greenlit for the sole purpose of Ms. Germanotta's cover of Jem's theme song. "Jem is my name! Rah-rah-ooh-la-la!"

Pink as Rogue (of X-Men)

Not to denigrate the work of Anna Paquin, but if X-Men ever hits the big screen in animated form, we need someone with more spunk than Sookie Stackhouse. Pink is almost preternaturally angst-ridden, and she'd serve up more believable grunts and war cries than The Piano's Best Supporting Actress.

Britney Spears as Judy Jetson

Hanna-Barbera's coolest high-schooler deserves someone with teenybopper prowess to make her silver-screen moment a lasting one. Britney Spears, who at least proved she could memorize things in Crossroads, would lend futuristic and frothy flair to the white-haired babe.
