Report: Daredevil to Return Under Eclipse Director David Slade

Fox hasn't forgotten about the idle Daredevil franchise parked in its garage, today reportedly enlisting The Twilight Saga: Eclipse director David Slade to revive the comics-hero series.

Word is that Slade will be handling a "continuation" of the series undertaken in 2003 with star Ben Affleck, though the next film reportedly will feature neither Affleck nor any material from the original, performed-better-than-you-thought adaptation. In other words, Daredevil will still be blind with four high-functioning senses, but that's about all you can count on.

The project remains early in the development phase, with no script or casting details to speak of. Cue leading-man gossip in 3... 2...

How long will it be until we hear that Justin Timberlake is showing interest? (Seems he's mentioned with every other Marvel movie do.)

It never ceases to amaze me how Hollywood has this uncanny knack for making movies that I never want to see.
(Get it? See? Cos he's blind? I don't blame you, I didn't watch the first one either. Except for the Farrell scenes).

Leading man speculation? I'm thinking Alex Pettyfer and Taylor Lautner's agent has a ready-typed press release. He's just flipping a coin right now to decide which one he'll pretend is the front-runner.

I'm all for a decent Daredevil movie. But done by a director of one of the Twilight movies? Please, someone - don't let this cinematic abortion come to pass. No one associated with the dreck that is Twilight should be let within 50 miles of any major comic book property - ever! And yes Mr. Slade, all the cred you earned doing Hard Candy and 30 Days of Night disappeared the second you agreed to direct a Twilight film, you HACK.
