Go 'Inside the Sausage Factory' with Movieline, MSN, LA Times, and UGO This Sunday at SXSW

Want to know what it's really like covering the film industry from a journalist's standpoint? Movieline will join representatives from MSN, the LA Times, and UGO this Sunday in Austin for a wide-reaching SXSW panel discussion on the realities of writing about film in the internet age. (Spoiler alert: It's complicated.) Mark your calendars and get ready to peel back the layers as we go inside the sausage factory!

Headed by MSN Movies columnist and film critic James Rocchi, Sunday's From the Sausage Factory: Inside the Film Press panel (March 13, 5pm) seeks to explore the lesser-known truths about film journalism. Among the topics up for discussion: Listicles, comments sections, and "the elation of getting it right." Bet on a rousing debate between Rocchi, the Times' Rebecca Keegan, UGO's Jordan Hoffman, and yours truly. Full details:

From the Sausage Factory: Inside the Film Press

Sunday, March 13 at 5pm

Austin Convention Center, Room 15 (SXSW pass required)

'Inside the Sausage Factory' will present a broad spectrum of professional experience -- Newspaper journalists, Alt-weekly staff, hustling freelancers, personality-driven iconoclasts -- to look at precisely how wildly differing film coverage is fragmenting in the modern world, and at what challenges all professional film writers face regardless of outlet or audience.
