· Recent Oscar winner Matt Damon -- hey, he was the narrator of Inside Job -- has voiced his displeasure with Barack Obama in an new interview with Piers Morgan. "I really think he misinterpreted his mandate," said Damon, a noted Obama supporter during the 2008 campaign. "A friend of mine said to me the other day, I thought it was a great line, 'I no longer hope for audacity.'" The Adjustment Bureau star also criticized Obama's "mechanized thinking" with regard to education practices. The full interview will air later tonight on CNN, provided Charlie Sheen doesn't ride his mercury surfboard into Morgan's studios once again. [Huffington Post]

· Speaking of Charlie Sheen, New York Times Magazine editor Adam Sternbergh has written a fairly spot-on assessment of why the public can't get enough of his mad ramblings. Hint: Sheen's media blitz is akin to seeing a dog walk on its hind legs. Click through for the knowledge. [NYT/6th Floor]

· And on cue: Here are Charlie Sheen quotes as New Yorker cartoons. [Film Detail]

· Alcon Entertainment is close to acquiring the rights to Blade Runner, with eyes on creating both a prequel and a sequel. Considering how little the geekcore fanbase of the original 1982 film cares about its legacy, this should go over just fine. [Deadline]

· Take this with a grain of salt, but Badass Digest has details on the plot of The Dark Knight Rises. Spoiler: Batman fights some bad guys. Your mind, 'tis blown. No further spoilers here -- click through for the details. [Badass Digest]

· Gotta get organizized. AMC Theaters will release a digitally restored 35th anniversary print of Taxi Driver into theaters later this month. [CinemaBlend]

· In other 35th anniversary news: John Travolta has agreed to appear alongside his Welcome Back, Kotter cast mates for a reunion at the TVLand Awards in April. Amazingly, Gabe Kaplan is still a holdout. Perhaps a man can only be told to shove a rubber hose up his nose so many times. [TV Guide]

· There was a test screening of Nailed on Tuesday night, but one without director David O. Russell (or as he was called on the screening invite "David O'Russell") or stars Jessica Biel and Jake Gyllenhaal. You'll recall Russell separated himself from the financially hollowed-out film last summer. Might this one hit theaters with an Alan Smithee credit? Fingers crossed, if only because we haven't seen one of those in a while. [Deadline]
