VIDEO: Topher Grace Does the Best Marty McFly Impression Ever

· The music video for Atomic Tom's cover of "Don't You Want Me Baby" that's pegged to the upcoming '80s comedy Take Me Home Tonight feels utterly forced and unnecessary -- it's just a panoply of stale '80s references -- until Topher Grace unleashes his Michael J. Fox-as-Marty McFly impersonation. Then it becomes transcendent. Click ahead to watch (the fun happens at 2:30ish), then stick around for more Buzz Break.

  • Sarah says:

I know it wasn't the strongest episode of Community, but when Troy said, "Dude can moonwalk!" I just lost it.

  • Christopher Rosen says:

Troy and Abed are outstanding. Every. Single. Week. Donald Glover and Danny Pudi are killing it this season -- hopefully one of them gets an Emmy nomination.
Too bad the show isn't doing them justice.

  • quijibo says:

I sincerely hope that you were being sarcastic when you spoke favorably about Topher Grace's impression in the headline. That was kitten-drowning awful.

  • Roy says:

Um, are you serious? That was a terrible impression. I felt uncomfortable and embarrassed watching it.
I do a better a better Marty than that and I'm not even this guy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FkI88ie7EXU&feature=related

  • Roy says:

For your reference, it's not Urban Cowboy, it's Can't Buy Me Love. It's not Basic Instinct, it's Fatal Attraction. And you missed When Harry Met Sally.
I'm a fan of all these movies, yet I can't stand this video. I guess glory doesn't rub off by merely associating yourself with things that are awesome. You have to be awesome yourself.

  • casting couch says:

What a horrible cover song... Thanks at least for putting a time index up so I didn't have to listen to the whole thing. And it sure felt stale.

  • ILDC says:

    So bad it's good?

  • Andrew says:

Also, Jason is not from Halloween, he's from Friday The 13th. I don't know how you were capable of doing so, but it's pretty hard to mix up the two.

  • Whatever says:

Didn't "Ghost" come out in 1990?

  • Cyrano says:

So much hate? I loved it - both the video and his impression, which I thought was great.

  • JimVincent says:

That was a terrible impression. Check out the new BTTF game for a dead-on Marty McFly impersonation!

  • brutony says:

And wasnt When Harry Met Sally in '89? This movie is supposed to take place in '88, right? Please tell me there are no Reagan pot shots, because they were the best times of our lives, and the countrys!

  • This Charming Man says:

Yes, it was a great time for all rich, White, overprivileged Yuppies. Man, I miss those elitist days... It was ACTUALLY the best time for punk rock, alternative art and culture that railed against all the rampant Conservatism and BS from the decade.
