Apparently Busy Philipps is Mad at Movieline

harvey_busy_darren120.jpg"I actually AM living the dream, a-hole. But thanks for the snarkiness about me and my career! Because that's always fun to see..." And thus, via Twitter, Busy Philipps declined to participate in this morning's open captioning of a random-ish image of her, Harvey Weinstein and Darren Aronofsky following last night's SAG Awards. 🙁 Please don't take it that way, Busy! All I meant was that your show wasn't nominated for anything, and so that might have made you an unlikelier invitee than those two fellows. I sincerely apologize if it came out all wrong! Like White Chicks. [@busyphilipps25]

Please stop fighting! YOU'RE TEARING ME APART!

  • Hmmm says:

Weak backtrack dude. You know what you were trying to say initially and got called out on it. Accept it and move on.

  • TurdBlossom says:

Looks like you hit a nerve.

  • Castaway says:

Wow. You look like a twat with your original comment and then you also manage to look like a twat with your apology. This is pretty impressive, even for you ST!
If you're going to snark at this level you should quit being such a big vagina about the inevitable consequences.
Great job at slowly-but-surely turning MovieLine into "that site".

  • HwoodHills says:

    Give S.T. V. his due...
His comment in rebuttal was JUST as snarky as the original dig.
Can't blame him for back-stepping when he wasn't.

  • greenerpuddles says:

Ricky Gervais tried to prove snark is healthy, even beneficial. The SAG Awards needed snark, didn't happen. A little aftersnark is warranted.

  • Castaway says:

Puhleeze. STV is just a thin-skinned 'yotch playing at being Perez Hilton.

  • KevyB says:

Called it! Busy isn't mad at Movieline. She's mad at YOU for acting like two behind-the-scenes movie people are automatically way above a lowly television actor. As good as Black Swan may be, right now the movie industry should be on a level far below the television industry. Two hours of Cougar Town is better than 98% of the crap they're churning out.

  • Morgo says:

I hate to agree because movieline started out so funny, but it does seem to be slowly turning into "that site". Snarkiness is not attractive, and if you're going to do a caption competition at least make it an interesting or unusual photo.

  • Cameron says:

I'm guessing the one night stand with Darren didn't pay off.

  • SunnydaZe says:

Busy, you look beautiful in that photo and the truth is> I never would have seen that picture had Stu not posted it. It was a joke on your persona, not you as a person. It is like laughing at a young Goldie Hawn standing next to Winston Churchill. Stu didn't call you "stupid" or a "slut" but YOU did call him an a-hole for giving you free press. If you are going to say yes to roles in horrifyingly awful movies with the Wayans Bros. in whiteface drag I would hope you have learned by now to take a joke. You are a comedian, right?

  • TrololoMan says:

    EXCEPT...
The brand and tone of the "free press" that you claim STV is offering is, "hey, look at this joke of an actress in the middle of these two legit artistes" - I don't know how the actress in question feels about that, but it certainly wouldn't be the sort of press that I would personally be grateful about getting. Let's call a spade a spade - he's not making fun of her persona, he's making fun of her as a professional. This more than earns him the title of "a-hole" (I would've gone with "whiny hack writer", but that's my personal preference).
And if you're one of those people that think any publicity is good publicity, just ask Lindsay Lohan or Britney if they agree.
