· Attention Mad Men fans: Don't hold your breath for the fifth season happening any time soon. Despite what AMC executives said at the Television Critics Association tour earlier this month, Matthew Weiner tells EW that no deal has been worked out between the network and Mad Men production company Lionsgate. On the plus side, Weiner will be ready to go back to work, if/when they hash things out. "I'm dying to go back to work," said the Mad Men creator. "But the truth is I don't even know what [AMC and Lionsgate's] plans are. We have not started writing. I am not back at work. My contract expired. [...] It would be heartbreaking for me if they don't work it out, horrifying really. It would be a shame for fans to never get to see what great stuff we have planned for Don and company." Um, yeah. Heartbreaking is right. Expect to see the latest adventures of Mr. Draper sometime in 2012. Hopefully. [EW]

· Judd Apatow is still on Ricky Gervais' case. The director hosted the Producers Guild Awards on Saturday night and used the time to once again defend Tim Allen against the Ricksters Golden Globes barbs. "He made a joke about Tim Allen who was standing next to Tom Hanks. Who looks good standing next to Tom Hanks? We all look like a piece of sh*t standing next to Tom Hanks. Warren Buffet would look like a piece of sh*t next to Tom Hanks," said Apatow. "Tim Allen did 200 episodes of Home Improvement. He was in three of the highest grossing movies of all time. And his latest just crossed the one billion mark. Whereas The Invention Of Lying made $18 million dollars worldwide. Leave Tim Allen alone." [THR]
