Well, that's assuming Ghostface is one of the handful of characters wielding cell phones in the trailer, which highlights Woodsboro's prettiest would-be slasher victims, past and present. Original survivor Sidney Prescott, now a bestselling author, returns to her home town ten years after the last Ghostface attack only to find a new generation of smart-alecky teens (Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Rory Culkin, Nico Tortorella) obsessing over the legendary serial killer.
With that jaunty music and so many soon-to-be-dead obnoxious teenagers just begging to be offed, the second trailer plays up the film's macabre comic angle much more than the first one did, promising a return to franchise form for the viewers out there who like their post-modern horror all zippy and meta. Scream 4 hits theaters April 15.
VERDICT: Screamier times 4. Color me intrigued!
