Glee's Heather Morris on Her Viral Rap Video, Sofia Vergara and Her Lesbian Make Out Scene

The second season of Glee has been an important one for Heather Morris. The actress -- who portrays Brittany, the ditzy New Directions member who believes that Dr. Pepper is a dentist -- became an official series regular, made her singing debut (in her character's titular episode), out-danced Britney Spears and established herself as the most reliably funny actor on the Emmy-nominated series. Knowing all of this, Movieline made a point to track down the Arizona-raised back-up-dancer-turned-actress at Tuesday night's Fox TCA Press Party to ask the break-out triple talent about her hilarious viral rap video, the possibility of a lesbian relationship on the show and her character's patented one-liners.

Hey Heather. I just watched your "Nuthin' But a Glee Thang" video with Sofia Vergara and loved it.

You did?

I did. When did you guys film that?

We actually shot that a long time ago and had to keep it a secret because we weren't sure it was going to come out. We did it in November on one of the weekends when we weren't working.

Whose idea was it?

My roommate [Ashley Lendzion] and I. She wanted to come up with a rap. She's the actress who comes on first to rap.

She was great.

Wasn't she? She's a great actress, too. But we came up with the concept and we took it to Ryan [Murphy] and he said, "Awesome. I'm down with this." So we had his support. And my manager also represents Sofia so he called her and she agreed to do it.

What was it like working with Sofia?

She is so pretty. I was just like [drops jaw]. And even without makeup! She walked into my house without makeup and she is just flawless.

So you filmed the video in your house?

Yeah! That's my living room that we used. It was crazy that she was actually in my house. I was just trying to not be awkward and not stare at her like a fan. She's so down-to-earth and funny. We would say, "Do you mind dancing?" and she'd say [switches to Colombian accent] "Whatever you want. Okay." She was so nice.

What can you say about Glee's big Superbowl episode?

It's a lot of things. We're still filming scenes. It's going to be huge.

Your one-liners are always high points of the show for me. Do you come up with any of those yourself?

Sometimes I do. It's fun to just say something really random.

Is there one line that you are particularly proud of coming up with yourself?

When Jesse St. James (Jonathan Groff) came to McKinley High, I came up with the line, "Mr. Schue, is he your son?"

Nice.

Yeah, I liked that one.

Earlier this season, Brittany and Santana had a pretty sexy make-out scene. Was that awkward to shoot?

That was so fun to shoot! Not awkward at all. It was funny because when we were shooting it, we were thinking that it would be a more serious scene than it ended up being with all of the editing.

Do you think that Brittany and Santana have a romantic future together?

I wish. But no, I don't think we're ever going to have a scene like that again though because I'm dating Artie. That's a really good relationship.

So Brittany and Artie are going to stay together for the entire second season?

I think so. I hope so. I love our relationship.
