Maybe everyone in Movieline HQ's luxury apocalypse bunker is just paranoid, but there have been an awful lot of bizarre signs that could mean that the end of time is near. Like the 2,000 dead birds falling from thy sky in Arkansas, or the hundreds of thousands of dead fish that washed onshore just miles away, or the Australian flooding. And now, in another eerie coincidence that seems to have been designed by God -- or Jacob -- Himself, Hurley's winning numbers on Lost have gone on to win an actual mega millions lottery.
OK, to be fair, it wasn't a perfect match. The winning numbers of Tuesday's near-record Mega Millions lottery drawing were 4, 8, 15, 25, 47 and 42, the first three of which match Hurley's winning digits 4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42, meaning that any Lost fanatics who played Hurley's numbers would have won $150 on the ticket; the two jackpot-level winning tickets that were sold in Idaho and Washington and are worth approximately $177.5 million (before taxes) each. Those winners have yet to come forward, maybe because they are deciding whether that cash is worth a string of bad luck and a six-season sentence of providing comic relief on a desert island.
