January Jones is Prepared to Disappoint in X-Men: First Class

JanuaryJonesEmmaFrost120.jpgAttention, Marvel fans: January Jones is in tune with your lofty expectations of her performance as telepathic superhero Emma Frost in Matthew Vaughn's upcoming X-Men prequel First Class and is doing her best to prepare. She flew to London the day after Mad Men wrapped, researched her character at length and lifted weights to attain that taut superhero body. Still, Jones knows what she is up against: "Fans of the X-Men comics have a very set idea of these characters in their heads," Jones told the LA Times recently. "I wanted to know as much as I could about her so I wasn't disappointing anyone. I'm sure I will still disappoint someone." Probably Betty Draper. That one isn't happy with anything. [LA Times]

If only Sharon Stone were younger. She would've been the perfect Emma Frost.

I think January Jones as Emma Frost is as perfect as a casting choice can be as far as comics go. I don't think Emma Frost is that far of a stretch from Betty Draper. Really I would be more worried about a silly script. That Wolverine Origins movie went haywire with the canon of the comics. January Jones is the only reason I'm looking forward to this movie actually. I can see how badly she'll be torn apart by fanboys and movie critics alike if she does deliver a sub par performance though. There's certainly a big target on her back from all sides.

I'm sure she will disappoint some. Like those who appreciate GOOD acting. She'll disappoint the HELL out of those people!

Totally @KevyB! Gorgeous, but dumb as a stump.

Honestly, she is not one of my main draws to see this film (those would be the idea of possibly having the first good x men film since the 2nd one and Jennifer Lawrence as mystique). Still, good for her for at least doing research on her role.

I read the header and was worried she meant she was prepared to disappoint by not wearing something skimpy. Phew!
