Quinton Aaron, who portrayed destined NFL star Michael Oher in the 2009 sports biopic The Blind Side, has been recruited by The CW's One Tree Hill for a guest-starring role, Movieline has learned exclusively. In this season's 14th episode, Aaron will play Tommy, a student in Nathan's (James Lafferty) business class who is singled out by Professor Kellerman (Peter Reigert) for being an athlete. As such, Tommy goes on to form a bond with former hoops star Nathan.
Right now, Aaron, 26, is slated to appear in just the one episode, which will air sometime during February sweeps.
In The Blind Side, Aaron starred alongside Sandra Bullock, who won an Oscar for her portrayal of Leigh Anne Tuohy, the Memphis woman who took teenage foster kid Michael into her home. Bolstered by the Tuohy family's vote of confidence, Michael went on to earn a college scholarship and eventually emerge as the Baltimore Ravens' first-round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft.
For his portrayal of "Big Mike," Aaron was nominated for BET, NAACP Image, MTV Movie and Teen Choice awards.
