Awards, Awards, Awards: Critics Choice Blacks Out, NY Critics Weighing In

Awards! So many awards. What will we do with all these awards? Awards everywhere! Awards in your refrigerator, awards in your morning coffee. Awards clogging the 405 and the Holland Tunnel. Sarah Palin shot and killed an award last night on TV. The Metrodome roof didn't collapse under the weight of snow, as you've heard; it was actually from a storm that dumped 17 inches of awards on Minneapolis. And now look: More awards!

New York Film Critics Online went first on Sunday with their awards, honoring The Social Network and most of the rest of the usual suspects, inexcusably stiffing Animal Kingdom genius and unofficial Movieline mascot Jacki Weaver, so... yeah. They can stick their damn awards. The Broadcast Film Critics Association followed up this morning with the 2010 Critics Choice Award nominations, which did include Dame Jacki but which you also could probably otherwise list from memory. These awards are getting predictable!

The New York Film Critics Circle is undertaking its annual awards vote as I write this; return here later today for those results. Awards!
