Remember that first Battle: Los Angeles teaser that was a little bit more elegant, artsy and awesome than anyone expected? Its editing and image composition were so well orchestrated with the unique, dreamy space pop that it looked like it might actually transcend the cheesy, B-movie trappings of the aliens-invade-Los Angeles genre. Well, B-movie fans rejoice. This new trailer has cheese to spare.
Image-wise, this new teaser actually shows even less from the movie; Mostly just explosions and screaming and things flying in the air and also more explosions. But the tone is completely different, starting with the narrator at the beginning who could have just as easily spoken at an Ed Wood tribute. The score and footage are well-edited and very intense, but it's hard to look at it in the same way when the trailer ends with a deadpan line like, "We can not lose Los Angeles." I'm pretty sure that some people would beg to differ.
Verdict: Interested! But want to see the full trailer.
