Christmas arrived early for fans of both Bret Easton Ellis and musicals this morning via the announcement that the author's 1991 novel American Psycho -- which was memorably adapted into a feature film starring Christian Bale -- is being transformed again, this time into musical form. In celebration of this news -- and in hopes that it avoids the same disastrous Broadway fate as Spiderman -- Movieline suggests a few song titles that composer Duncan Sheik ("Spring Awakening") will hopefully consider for the first draft, which is expected next year.
"Wall Street!"
"The Psycho Sleeps Tonight"
"Oh What a Beautiful Head Wound"
"Wouldn't It Be Loverly (If I Murdered Her)?"
"You're Nobody 'Til Somebody Dies In Front Of You"
"A Chloroform For You"
"Guys and F*cking Ugly B*tches"
"Homicidal Fantasies Come True"
"Do You Hear the People Scream"
"Defying Depravity"
"Another Slay"
"Beauty and the Ax Murderer"
"Getting To Stab You"
"Thrashing Queen"
"The Lady Is a Tramp-y Corpse"
"If I Were a Rich Man (Oh Wait, I Am)"
