Scheduling Apocalypse: Fox Moves American Idol To Wednesday And Thursday

Thursday night is rapidly turning into the network equivalent of the O.K. Corral. First CBS, sensing weakness on the part of NBC's comedies, moved The Big Bang Theory and $#*! My Dad Says into the 8 PM berth formerly held by Survivor. NBC responded by doubling-down and expanding their night into a 3 hour comedy behemoth. And now Fox is looking to join the fight. Check out their full, new midseason line-up after the break.

Vulture is reporting that Fox has decided to move its aging prize pony, American Idol, from its previous Tuesday & Wednesday position, to one day later, with performance day on Wednesday and the results show on Thursday at 8, thus going head-to-head-to-head with Community & Perfect Couples on NBC and Big Bang Theory & $#*! My Dad Says at CBS. Previous reports indicated the horrible, terribly bloated results show would shrink to a merciful 30 minutes, but it appears to be stuck in its hour-long incarnation

What does this mean for the rest of the Fox line-up? It means that Glee and Raising Hope get to remain on Tuesday, where they'll be joined in January by Mixed Signals. Fan favorite Fringe is getting banished to death zone of Friday nights and someone gave Christian Slater yet another the show, this time called Breaking In. Check out the schedule below!
