Seth Rogen is a Better Superhero Than Ryan Reynolds in Latest Trailer for The Green Hornet

The easy joke over the last eighteen months was that audiences wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the Seth Rogen-led version of The Green Hornet and Ryan Reynolds' Green Lantern. Well, this week, an easy distinction revealed itself: The Green Hornet doesn't look like death warmed over. Let's call this latest trailer the "Suck it, Green Lantern" edition.

Not much has changed since the last trailer debuted back in the spring: Seth Rogen still stars as playboy Britt Reid, a partying layabout who has his world turned over when his millionaire father winds up dead; Jay Chou is Kato, his father's assistant and an all-around gadget maven, who helps Britt fulfill his Green Hornet destiny while bickering with his new boss; and Cameron Diaz and Christoph Waltz are there to lend some bigger names to the poster as the girl and the heavy, respectively. If there's a star here, though, it's the chemistry between Rogen and Chou; the pair look like a regular Laurel and Hardy (or Rogen and Rudd). Tack on some absurd and awesomely staged fighting scenes directed by Michel Gondry, and you've got what could be the most fun film ever released in January. Or at least one that I can't wait to see. Sorry Green Lantern, you lose.

VERDICT: Sold!
