"My favorite scene," thought Kirk for a beat before answering. "There is a James L. Brooks movie after Terms of Endearment and Broadcast News called I'll Do Anything. Nick Nolte is so great in that movie. There is a scene where he is in a casting office and he is working as Albert Brooks' driver or something. And there is a casting director who is trying to figure out who would be good for this action movie they are casting. And they are trashing the actors, saying 'This guy is too fat' or 'This one is too thin' or whatever. And you see Nick Nolte just bubbling up and he sort of unleashes on this guy with a great speech for actors. That may not be my favorite scene in a movie but that was the first one that came to mind."
Unsatisfied with his answer, Kirk continued, "I think my favorite movie is Joe Versus the Volcano -- or maybe Multiple Maniacs by John Walters. The stations of the cross montage was kind of cool. It was his first talkie. He is one of my favorites and that might be my favorite of all of his movies."
