1.) I'm Just a Bill.
The aforementioned theme song of how a bill becomes a law from the good people at Schoolhouse Rock. The granddaddy of them all. I'm not making this up: I find this song so catchy that it's currently on my iPod. [Editor's note: Mine too]
2.) Electoral College
This one, alas, is not on my iPod. In fact, no video in the history of supposedly educational material confused me more as a child. When I was six-years-old I actually thought that the electoral college was some sort of university that, as the song states, didn't have a football team.
3.) Donny Osmond
I bet Donny Osmond wishes that he could have this one back. I mean, it's just so, so creepy. Donny's on stage, in some sort of secret police uniform, talking about defending the homeland? Whatever, Osmond, you win, I'll vote!
4.) Dee-Lite
I want to know who at MTV thought to themselves, "You know, 'Groove is in the Heart' is just so powerful, I bet that the artists behind that gem could get people to vote!" At least they didn't attempt to convert Timmy T's "One More Try": into an inspirational voting song.
5.) Slaughter
Again, seriously: Slaughter? Up all night/sleep all day! Up all night/sleep all day! (Then vote.)
6.) Madonna
After watching this, I have a sudden urge to go back to my polling station and ask if I can have my ballot back -- you know, just pretend that I was never here. Then again, at least they picked an artist that was relevant for more than three months. You know what, I'm just going to watch the "I'm Just a Bill" video one more time.
