Keira Knightley and Elisabeth Moss's Lesbian Drama, and 7 Other Stories You'll Be Talking About Today

Also in today's edition of The Broadsheet: Fantastic Voyage still needs a director... Clint Eastwood gets political... Good news about the apocalypse... Zagat wants to help shape the conversation about movies... and more!

· This is... interesting: Keira Knightley and Elisabeth Moss will co-star in a West End revival of Lillian Hellman's 1934 play The Children's Hour, about a pair of girls' school teachers accused by a vengeful pupil of having a lesbian affair. We're overdue for another screen adaptation if this happens to go well at all; the previous two occurred in 1936 and 1961, both by William Wyler but only the latter including the speculative sapphic subject matter. Ian Rickson will direct for an early 2011 debut. [Variety]

· Know a good director who might have an opening throughout most of 2011 and into 2012? The Fox-financed, James Cameron-produced Fantastic Voyage remake seems about one step removed from placing an ad on Craigslist. [Deadline]

· Speaking of 2012, apparently the world isn't going to end that year as previously believed: The folks responsible for adjusting the dates of the prophetic Mayan calendar are said to have miscalculated by anywhere from 50 to 100 years. Which I suppose means at least another two rounds of new Star Wars films. [Daily Intel]

· Surprise! Historically right-leaning Clint Eastwood is "not a fan" of President Obama. [Reuters]

· If you ever thumbed through a Zagat restaurant guide and thought, "Gee, it sure would be great if someone published thousands of these decontextualized blurbs from anonymous readers about the greatest films ever made," get thee to a bookstore! [Time]

· "Karzai Confirms His Office Gets Cash From Iran" or "Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's Spa Day with the Kids." Which headline is more terrifying? [NYT, People]
