Katy Perry, Tits Bounced From Sesame Street, and 4 Other Stories You'll Be Talking About Today

Also in today's Broadsheet: Why is Boardwalk Empire so friggin' white?... Rob Zombie plots his next move... Elizabeth Banks goes out on a Ledge... and more...

· You recoiled in disgust, and the producers of Sesame Street listened: Katy Perry's abjectly irritating duet with Elmo will be yanked from the show on account of her plunging neckline and abundant cleavage -- though those involved would just like you to know her chest is covered by sheer, flesh-colored fabric. So remember the dry-cleaning bill, guys, when you're thinking of where to splooge. [TMZ]

· A couple guys who've apparently never watched anything directed by Martin Scorsese or written by Terence Winter are upset that Boardwalk Empire takes liberties with Atlantic City's rich, nuanced criminal and ethnic history. So now you know. [NYT]

· Rob Zombie will next take on The Lords of Salem, not a very serious Blob remake as previously reported. His original script involves the descent of burned witches' spirits on contemporary Salem, and he seems very excited to have final cut. [Deadline]

· Lawrence Kasdan will return with Darling Companion, featuring Diane Keaton as a woman who acquires a dog to fill the emotional space created by her aloof husband -- so aloof, in fact, that he then loses the dog. A search, and thus the rest of film, ensues. Kevin Kline will play the husband; Elisabeth Moss and Richard Jenkins are also in. [THR]

· Elizabeth Banks will play a crisis negotiator opposite Sam Worthington's title character in the thriller Man on a Ledge. Brush up on your monosyllables, Lizzie! [Deadline]

Rob Zombie didn't do his research then, if his "The Lords of Salem" movie is about burned witches' spirits returning to Salem. There were no witches burned in Salem. All deaths but one were hangings, and likely none of them WERE witches.
I believe it's more poor reporting than poor research on Mr. Zombie's part.

I have no problem with Perry's cleavage, my problem is with her absurd hairstyle. Talk about a bad influence on young girls. If Perry isn't stopped (given a new style) we'll have to deal with the consequences ten years from now when millions of young women look like Betty Boop.
Oh, and thanks for not posting a spoiler alert on the whiny article about "Nucky" Johnson. Until reading that article I had no idea what eventually happened to him. Now I do.

  • Martini Shark says:

So kids are not supposed to look at Katy Perry dressed like that. But a week ago a reporter was dressed the same way and the NY Jets were in trouble. Someone please tell me just who is supposed to be looking at cleavage?!

  • Rhatik Darkio says:

HEY TELL YOUR BOOBIES TO STOP LOOKING INTO MY EYES

  • Peg says:

"Abundant cleavage"? Looked pretty "average" to me...just sayin'

  • Isn't Katy Perry a singer, or something? I keep forgetting she does for her regular job

  • May anybody affirm this specific?

  • To be perfectly honest, I receive more traffic and search engine rankings from articles than any other thing. I find it humorous that good old article marketing still works after all the fabulous internet marketing software that have come along.
