3 Sketches Amy Poehler Should Revive in her SNL Hosting Gig

Have you enjoyed SNL Day at Movieline? Look, it was an accident. We can't help that there's much to discuss about Jenny Slate's departure, Lorne Michaels' new hires, the greatest one-season cast members, and now Amy Poehler's season premiere hosting gig. The Parks and Recreation star's return to Studio 8H will no doubt be a successful one, but it could be sublime if she revived these three sketches.

Bronx Beat: As mouthy co-host Betty Caruso on Bronx Beat, Poehler gave us with three of life's greatest gifts: Crimped hair, flat-ironed bangs, and enough kvetching to put Linda Richmond to shame. A surprise cameo by Jodi Deitz (Maya Rudolph) would start the season off on an optimistic note.

Kaitlin: Kaitlin combines the silliness and sputtering character work that Poehler often showed on Upright Citizens Brigade. She's also the closest thing Saturday Night Live has had to the untouchable kid characters played by Gilda Radner (Judy Miller) and Cheri Oteri (Althea McMahonaman).

Anything Involving Rap: As proven by her Weekend Update rap about Sarah Palin, Poehler's rapping abilities pale only in comparison to Chuck D, Twista, and maybe Mango. In fact, would anything suit Poehler's opening monologue more than a few stanzas of hip-hop?
