· David Mills
The journalist-turned-television producer/writer -- who worked on Homicide: Life on the Street, The Wire, NYPD Blue and, most recently, Treme -- passed away on March 30, 2010 after suffering a brain aneurysm. No offense to the family of Joanne Dillon -- an Emmy associate producer who received mention -- but shouldn't there have also been room for someone as prolific as Mills?
· Mitch Miller
The singer/songwriter/producer hosted one of the most iconic early '60s television shows, Sing Along with Mitch, and passed away on July 31 of this year at the ripe old age of 99.
· Harvey Pekar
You might not think of Harvey Pekar as a television personality, but his appearances with David Letterman were/are the stuff of legend. The Emmys might have forgotten this, but you don't have to -- watch a clip of Pekar and Letterman from 1987 below.
