Who Got Left Out of the Emmy Death Montage This Year?
It's hard to blame the producers of the Emmys (and, by extension, the Oscars) for leaving out certain deceased members of the Hollywood community while recapping the year in death during the awards telecast. After all, time is tight -- especially when you've got Jewel singing! Still, here are three notable names that were left out of the Emmy death montage.
· David Mills
The journalist-turned-television producer/writer -- who worked on Homicide: Life on the Street, The Wire, NYPD Blue and, most recently, Treme -- passed away on March 30, 2010 after suffering a brain aneurysm. No offense to the family of Joanne Dillon -- an Emmy associate producer who received mention -- but shouldn't there have also been room for someone as prolific as Mills?
· Mitch Miller
The singer/songwriter/producer hosted one of the most iconic early '60s television shows, Sing Along with Mitch, and passed away on July 31 of this year at the ripe old age of 99.
· Harvey Pekar
You might not think of Harvey Pekar as a television personality, but his appearances with David Letterman were/are the stuff of legend. The Emmys might have forgotten this, but you don't have to -- watch a clip of Pekar and Letterman from 1987 below.

Umm, shouldn't Farah Fawcett have been included in this round? Or did I miss her part?
How was The Tonight Show not on EITHER of these lists?
I believe she was mentioned at the Emmys last year. She was snubbed by the Oscars, though.
Farrah died 6-25-09. She was in last year's montage.
What about David Burroughs of Cheers/Frazier/Everything Funny in the last 40 years fame?
OMG!!! I just slept for an entire year. LMAO
